A product of a life time of music addiction and over 10 years as a dj, Paul Spears' Eclecticist alter ego is all about diversity. Never having been happy with just one style of music, he can be heard playing everything from purist dancefloor sets of breakbeat, dnb & jungle, to cinematic genre defying sets, dubbed as "Filmcore" that traverse the realms of ambient, downtempo, rock, jazz, world music and more. Also an aspiring producer and an accomplished digital artist/designer, The Eclecticist seeks to combine his dj'ing and music production with his digital art & love for film to create a cinematic mixed media experience.
The Eclecticist is also one half of "the illuminaries."

Been listening to escaping reality mix for about an hour now - really digging the sounds. Will be passing this onto my friends for sure. Peace.

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." Thank you for your friendship! Musical greetings from Munich/Germany!
