(written for the occasion of my 10th high school reunion, in 1987)

Saw your face in my yearbook
Got me thinking that it was so long ago
It's been a couple of lifetimes
Years are slipping on by, and I just don't know
Think of all of the details,
All the bad memories, they just hide away
And though we think we ignore them,
We simply choose not to see to the earlier days

Life was much simpler, now I know
Amazing how much little minds can grow
We lived in a world that we'd barely seen
Oh, we had it all back at seventeen
Because you're in love doesn't make it right
To cheat out your life over one good night
And all that was learned then, I think to say
Was losing a friend back along the way

What's your life like now?

I heard one time you got married
I also heard that it lasted for two whole years
Though I'm sure he adored you,
I think you couldn't get past all your own worst fears
Don't even know where you're living,
Do you have any kids? Are they just like you?
I should be trying to call you
And I know that I just won't be able to.

Got some lines on my face, we are older now
