Eleonora Chiesa was born in 1979, Genoa, Italy.
Her personal background is based on work in progress on the body environment interactionwith the use of videos, performances and experimental sound installations.
"She begins a series of performances centred on the concept of the game, both in the anthropological sense and as a metaphor of the survival conflict. It is an invitation to confront one self with the contradiction of this contemporary society and also a way of revealing codes of transparency that cancel the work that has significance and enhance its destabilizing effects, giving way to a contamination that, through the experimentation and re-visitation of its own memory, gives life to today human being, by shaking and making him face himself. Another characteristic is that of showing the atmosphere that embraces the spectator perception. The projection of everything happening behind the closed doors of the room where the performance is taking place. To reveal the codes of transparency cancelling the work that signifies the cultural ideologies is the first move of the critical resistance that the artist imposes on the false assumption of the neutrality of signs. As if wanting not only to confirm an alternative way capable of giving form to the emergency dynamics of the new but also, as an itinerary through which the subject of art questions the role given to it and the order in which it is integrated; to take the limit over board and in an utopian way, give form to future relationships that enlighten a past which appeared definitely organized and then wisely invert the order and define that which today I would like to call the or the obstinacy orto live there our own; "it is just a matter of time" as Felix Gonzales Torres says. Otherwise if you prefer lets call it resistance: a way of asserting a presence, of being, as a right, independent of any one else licence and confirmation.

She begins expressing herself by starting from the performance and then give life to complex and stratified happenings, where action, sound, object and technological support come together in a rhythmical synergy giving body to a redundant visual apparatus which, will constitute a future pretext for an ample photographic documentation; I imagine her, going back in time, together with Tazara, Apollinaire, imbued by the theatre of cruelty by Antonin Artaud, hand in hand with Alfred Jarry.

She has her own poetic dynamism through which she can describe a world divided between a collective time and one typically feminine capable of bearing both the dimensions that are the basis of existence; to then transform it in a desired utopia, knocking down barriers, hypocrisies: she says "Unfortunately I believe we are going through some tragic times" Our society is based on image and in spite of the fact of the winds of war and the everyday succumbing victims, everything still shines, I believe this dramatic and grotesque situation reverses it self inevitably on everyone souls.

Because poetry is the verb that wants to become flesh, meaning the suggestion and verification of an affirmation. The visual word needs to be structured, to continuously organize itself, as continuous is the need to assert oneself avoiding stagnation, prolonged stops, delays; an almost anxiety to also precede us and surprise us. It is an internal Diaspora as a sort of preface to cosmopolitism."

la sua ricerca si incentra su un lavoro progettuale in progress incentrato sull'interazione corpo/corpi ambiente utilizzando video e performances associati ad installazioni sonore sperimentali.

MAIN CONCEPT: "Se gli eventi non ci pervengono da uno stato immaginario e chimerico, ma da ciò che il mondo ci enumera in ogni attimo della sua esistenza, un linguaggio che cerca di muoversi nella coscienza non può essere illusione, ma atto di una convivenza critica rispetto all'odierno assetto sociale.
Perchè:
a) una performance non è uno spettacolo o una messa in scena ma in realtà è un opera tridimensionale dove tutto interagisce con molteplici variabili;
b) una forma di pensiero, un avvenimento unico ed irripetibile, un modo diverso di concepire l'arte e di trasformarla da semplice oggetto contemplativo in linguaggio espressivo;
c) diserta il linguaggio omologato;
e) ciò che accade in quell'arco di tempo, definito da inizio e fine, tra i performers e il pubblico, dove quest'ultimo diventa parte integrante dell'azione modificandola momento dopo momento con la propria tensione ed energia;
f) è depositaria di contenuti sociali, politici, intellettuali ed artistici;
g) la cura formale del tutto diventa funzionale solo al concetto e non ad un estetica sterile e decorativa.

Eleonora Chiesa, Genova 1979. Artista multimediale attiva nell'ambito performativo e video, la sua ricerca si incentra su un lavoro progettuale in progress incentrato sull'interazione corpo-ambiente con indagini tematiche sulla società conteporanea e i suoi derivati. Dal 2005 collabora attivamente con musicisti emergenti e di livello internazionale quali SARS, (Flexible audio, Genova), Dieb (Citymorb Music,Rome-Redevice, Amsterdam), Vermont (Citymorb Music, Rome), Gui.tar (Careless, Berlin), Port-Royal (Resonant, London) .
