I am a photographer living and working in Brooklyn, NY. I was born and raised in Massachusetts, and I graduated with a degree in Photojournalism from Boston University. Shortly after the Sox won it all, I headed south in search of inspiration, better rooftops, open bars, and Coney Island.
I can be found exploring the far reaches of New York City, riding my bicycle and building new ones, taking photos of musicians and friends, and drinking iced coffee.

Yesterday I did a shoot for NYLON that was super fun. Trevor let me use his amazing loft. Here he is with his pup Marty.

Here's a polaroid of Jordy the makeup artist.

Polaroid, don't go dyin' on me.

Here's an outtake from a shoot I recently did for Alarm Magazine, of the Peruvian/psych-pop band Chicha Libre, at their home base, the bar Barbes in Park Slope. One of the band member's daughter was having a grand old time and didn't really want to leave the set, so I decided that for one setup she should be the star of the show, at least at first glance. I am interested in starting to incorporate more humor or subtle details into my pictures (at least the portraits I set up), so they can be taken either at face value or more deeply.
Check out the Day19 coverage of the last Piebald shows ever. Hey! You're part of it.
Can you believe it's May already? My birhday is in one month. Gotta think of something good to do. I don't think I can top Jim's gun-range trip...

Big thanks to everyone who helped out with my memory card failure. Unfortunately no resurrection was possible-the entire thing was so corrupt that it couldn't even format in my camera, let alone be read by my computer. In a way this was good, as I got to reshoot and the results were far better than the original.
Check out my friend Daniel's new blog. He's an incredible tattoo artist at Invisible NYC and a fantastic painter.
Some springtime flicks.

We took a 40 mile bike ride recently down the Bay Parkway (west coast of Brooklyn) to Coney Island, then the Rockaways, then up through the very center of Brooklyn to Difaras for some legendary pizza, then up through Victorian Flatbush to Prospect Park. Highly recommended! Here's the route:
I can't say how much I love these photos. So I'll just say that they're amazing and leave it at that.

Love the Wayne bubble photo - he is brilliant. Any suggestions for a good coffee (sans ice) in Brooklyn? Am making my very first visit to NYC in a few weeks and will require my hit as I wander the streets of you hood.
