Hi, I'm Emily Hush. I'm a Brighton-born singer songwriter...
Since the age of 8 I've been writing songs to express my deeper darker depths (hence the would-be album title Things That You Don't See), celebrate happy times and tell the people I love, that I Love Them. Sometimes all three cross over. And sometimes I'm just having a laugh...
I always try to find sounds which are true to my emotions and embody the meaning of the lyrics. My music these days is rooted in soulful piano patterns and yummy vocal harmonies, but having said that, some songs spin out into funky electronica thanks to the musical wibblings of my lovely brother Tom Cole (aka Sonic Wreck Creation).
My all-time biggest influences have been Kate Bush, (classic) Erasure, Nelly Furtado (the old stuff) and (everything by) They Might Be Giants, but don't try and imagine a fusion of these - aagghhh!! Have a listen to my songs instead and let me know what you think. Cheers!
