Stefanos Kourtis has been making electronically generated sounds since 1997. Starting with a video game sequencer and gradually moving on to more 'formal' electronic tools, he has been involved in many aspects of sound production, including sound editing & mixing for TV, composition for theatrical plays and music making.
He has been a member of the netlabel scene since 2005 and has released music under various aliases on several netlabels like Sweet Smelling Surfaces, Stratagem, Lost Science and Memoryformat, which is run by himself.
Eskaei is the moniker he uses to present his boom bap-influenced, electronic hip-hop hybrid. A deep fascination for the properties of electronic sounds and love for the old true-school hip-hop albums have been his main influences for this project.

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov)
