Hey guys it's me, Ethan. Just want to share a bit of my life with you. I write songs. I write songs that are easy to play, probably because my skills on the guitar are not that of John Mayer or Pat Metheny. But, I consider them easy to the ears. Ok enough of that...
Basically, I bought my first guitar, a Takamine, for a grand total of $275 CASH MONEY when I was in 8th grade. Oh you better believe that I could throw down some G C D C, oh snap Em, chords. Yeah, I played "Brown Eyed Girl." But I really didn't start practicing guitar until my 10th grade year. Then I got a little better. By junior year I played a little more consistently and got a little better, and throughout my senior year and first semester in college I continued to progress.
I really wanted to write songs. Though I had written several "love songs" for random girls and some funny life songs, I consider "Big Blue Eyes" the first song I ever wrote. It's about my (2 at the time) 3-yr-old cousin Mary Anna. So that was it. That kick started song writing for me. I continued to write songs about family, friends, and life. Then I threw in some worship.
I want people to hear my music and be able to relate the words to their life. If people don't really like my music, that's ok. I will still write and try to record some stuff. The truth is, as a wise fellow window washer told me, "If you like your songs, that's all that matters." So, I do realize that my music is not award winning material, but I like it.
I hope you do.
