I picked up CS3 and an Intel Mac and couldn't be more content with my purchase right now (aside from the first laptop i received being broken and my apple router still not working). What has "tickled my fancy" was Flash for CS3 with the new version of Actionscript, AS3. It's sick. I'm learning as much as i can right now and the Help Docs in this version are awesome. Unfortunately some of the tutorials in the docs have some errors, but if you understand AS2 you'll be able to pick them out and get the general concept.
Check out the zip http://www.designisforlovers.com/CurrentTime.zip . I'm going to be doing a little traveling over the next couple of months and while planning out my site i thought it would be cool to have a clock on there telling the visitor what time it is where i am. It finds the difference between the visitors time and the UTC as well as the difference between where i tell the site i am and the UTC, then gives the visitor my time based off of the their computer clock. Currently it is set to Tokyo, Japan.
To open the .fla files you need to have Adobe Flash CS3 and to open the .swf files you need to have Flash Player 9. I plan on making a few tutorials for people that are looking to get into AS3 including the general changes that you will run into when trying to make simple things, like buttons and rollovers, up to some more advanced stuff as well as new features of AS3. Let me know if anyone is interested or if anyone would like to contribute.
