Fante (after Ask The Dust's infamous author) is a 4piece + one from Lille suburbs, north of France, yeah, you know, old Europe, that is. Has had its share of supporting acts (Tueloup, Candie Prune, anyone ? )but hasn't managed to be the right band in the right place... yet. Slowly nurturing songs (sung in english and sometimes japanese) seems to be its main purpose. Utterly incapable of any form of trend following, the slowmotion quartet (+one) still firmly believes rock'n'roll will somehow save it's sorry ass. Been spotted by a few prestigious labels (Z And Zoe, Another Record... ), called many names ("inventor of post blues" in the words of french music magazine Magic ! or even "electrified sybarites" by J.D.Beauvallet of Les Inrocks), and last seen on stage with much talented brits (Northern Sounds, see among its myspace friends) or cold wave vets. Might be on to something, even as we speak. Go figure...
