In a world of "cookie-cutter" bands, the challenge facing all musicians is how to create something truly unique, yet remain captivating while doing it. Although this is certainly no easy task, Fat Daddy Has Been has successfully and seamlessly melded Hip-Hop, Soul, Reggae/Ska, and Rock into a completely original sound that they can truly call their own.
The 7 piece ensemble, which features a 3 piece horn section, guitar, percussion, bass, and lead vocals, cut its teeth while sharing stages with a variety of well known acts. These acts include Sean "P Diddy" Combs, Mary J. Blige, Ice-T, Kool Keith, Kurtis Blow, The Last Emperor, Aquarium Rescue Unit, The Toasters, Rusted Root, and Karl Denson.
While remaining independent, the collective's music has been in rotation on major-market commercial radio stations, including 93.7 WSTW, Wilmington, DE and 103.9 WOCQ, Salisbury, MD. Fat Daddy Has Been is a proven draw at venues from the Philadelphia to the Delaware Beach markets, including shows as distant as South Africa. Both of the band's albums (Self-Titled Debut, and Who Wants Seconds) are available for sale at popular retailers like Amazon.com, CDbaby.com, and the Apple iTunes store.
