He was at the end of the wire
Working at an outlaw bar
She walks in like a mystery
A hired musician from somewhere far
She kept her stun ray close at her side
And she picked him out 'cause he didn't smell
You could say that it was the match made
At the gig from hell
They had a drink after the sound check
They saw themselves in each other's gaze
And they laughed at each other's stupid jokes
And the barroom melted away
And then there was two
Gliding on the fire of life
Although the word together was too hard to say
It was hard to believe
It was like some old 2-D movie
And then there was two
And it was Tracer & Grey
Cash was always too useful to die
Like when she got booed off the stage
The manager refused to pay up
And she began to leave right away
That's when Tracer jumped over the counter
He said he thought the music was really good
He begged Grey to take him with her
And then she asked him why she should
He said "I just took what they owe you."
She said "Any funny stuff and you're dead!"
And they ran just as somebody noticed
And they lost them in the south end.
And then there was two
Gliding on the fire of life
Although the word together was too hard to say
It was hard to believe
It was like some old 2-D movie
And then there was two
And it was Tracer & Grey
