About

F-HOLES: The sound hole on classical stringed instruments and some modern electric guitars and bass guitars. Also refferred to as "Sound Holes"...

...Or a group of wild and crazy punk rockers, from Flagstaff, AZ. These are what F-HOLES really are...

It started in January/February of 2006 when only Chris Shelton (Bass) and Jeremy Brougher (guitar) decided to do something different from what they had done previously with music. Jeremy had been the front man for a local ska group named "The X-stink'd" and Chris had just played a couple of times w/ the group to fill in for their trombone player. About 8 months after The X-stink'd had disbanded Jeremy and Chris decided to try their reigns at Rockabilly.

So Jeremy and Chris picked up their guitars and started writing songs. Around March or so the group asked a local psycho Billy fan named Sean to play upright bass for the group. That lasted about a month and then Sean decided to move to Phoenix with his other band. Not really knowing what to do, Jeremy and Chris drove out to Ruidoso NM and purchased an upright bass! So Chris Dropped his guitar and learned how to play the before their first show on June 11th at Studio 111 here in Flagstaff, AZ. Their first show was played with drummer Zack Morris, who a short time later moved to Colorado for college...

The band went through around 6 or 7 drummers until Ben Harclerode committed to play for the group permanently! We haven't been the same since... With the addition of Ben, the band was completely revamped. Song writing became more technical, and the fun was immeasurable! Now complete, the band is taking huge strides to further themselves in the music world.: playing at different venues, music festivals, cities and even countries!

...Studio 111 (Flagstaff), The Monte V. Coctail lounge (Flagstaff), The Boardwalk (Flagstaff), The Mad Italian (Flagstaff), Northern Arizona University (Flagstaff), The Cottage Haus (Flagstaff), Big Fish Pub (Phoenix), Jug-heads/J-heads (Phoenix), and many more! The F-HOLES also did a short tour of the South West, where they had the honor of playing Rude Dogs in Covina, CA (L.A. area) and the Old Prison in Yuma, AZ!

While on the road, the F-HOLES has also had the honor of playing at The Red Room (Las Cruces, NM), Sarawak in Juarez Mexico! Making the band (somewhat, haha!) international! Now in the Process of planning their next tour covering all major cities in Texas in June, the band is more ready than ever for whatever lay in their paths.

Their E.P. will be coming out shortly...So keeps your eyes peeled for updates and the CD release show! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSIC SCENE!!!

Gagosian Liga, Jan 18, 2008:

"We all admire the spangled acrobat with classical grace meticulously walking his tight rope in the talcum light; but how much rarer art there is in the sagging rope expert wearing scarecrow clothes and impersonating a grotesque drunk! I should know." (Vladimir Nabokov)
