It's a swirly mix of reverb and overdubbed guitar, organ, drums and vocals that sounds like he's said goodbye to conventional logic, got hold of some really good weed and just gone with it. Breaking off from a psyche Hammond workout into the bass riff from 'My Girl' doesn't need me or anyone else to say it's amazing. He's done a remix of labelmate Old Gold's True story that turns a new wave sex ode into a waltz for god's sake. The boy has so much talent (and he's only 17) that someone should turn him over to the FBI for research. "

Ariel Pink-style vocals over a wall-of-sound of swirling Hammonds, feedback loops and seriously overdriven guitars makes up a psychedelic soundscape we can only describe as neo-classical freakout. It's not just the name that's Italo - this goes right to the heart of the folk/psyche ideal, conjuring up Arcadian Pleasure Gardens, winking statues and nymphs and shit. 5 tracks and 40 minutes that go from being as dense as the trip scene in Easy Rider to light as the cloud stage of Super Mario, and touch pretty much every mood in-between."

"LA-based record label Dgenetics Musics has been getting lots of press this summer, and for good reason: one of the four artists on their roster is prodigious seventeen-year-old Michael Fiore. Rather than putting out trendy electro-jams like his labelmates, though, Fiore recorded an EP of heady psychedelic rock -- a bold move in an era of short, hook-driven radio and blog singles.
The ten-minute Airplane Song is a great introduction to Fiore's music, even though he places it at the end of Gold We Hold (82¢); a jaunty bassline opens the song, airy vocals and vibraphone clash with a crushing, distorted '70s guitar around halfway, and the track wraps up with wild keyboard solos and beat-poet toms. Oh yeah: and he plays every instrument on the album.
Called a "hugely exciting prospect" by Pure Groove Digital and an artist whose music "both lyrically and sonically belies his years" by Pimp Magazine, Fiore is one of Amie Street's most talented and unique new artists."
