Boldtype
Published once a month, Boldtype is an email book review based on a simple guiding philosophy: to cover 5-7 books worth reading. Like a well-read friend's picks, each issue is compiled by editors and contributing reviewers who suggest only works that they have read and would personally recommend. We never accept money from publishers, writers, or marketers to review any of their books. Every issue is centered around a theme, a launching point from which to list a selection of books across a variety of genres -- from literary fiction to historical nonfiction, from poetry and short stories to coffee table books on art and architecture. In addition to featuring current titles, Boldtype also regularly reviews great books from years past. Re-launched in November 2003, Boldtype was originally founded by Larry Weissman, who created it in 1997 at Random House as one of the web's first literary magazines. Though we're no longer affiliated with Random House, Weissman continues to be an Editor-at-Large at the publication. Check out Boldtype at http://www.boldtype.com/.
