I spent one week on a river cruise on the Danube between Vienna, Austria and Nuremberg, Germany over Christmas. I took one optional day long bus tour to Salzburg, Austria. I always feel that my country is so young after traveling in Europe. I get such a sense of history when I travel overseas. Two good guidebooks are "Fodor's Austria" and "Fodor's Germany". I came home and checked out the movie "Sound of Music" after seeing Salzburg. After seeing Nuremberg where the war trials took place I checked out "Judgment at Nuremberg". I really appreciated both movies after seeing where they were filmed.
