01. Hello...! We are very happy to feature an interview with you on our pages.
Whydon't you tell us what you're doing at the moment? Are you working at a new album?
Hello to you out there!
Of course I´ve started working on new tracks for several compilations and my new album, too.
I´m also preparing for some concerts as Genevieve Pasquier and with the group Jägerblut.
02. I am really surprised of your affection for vinyls... Until now you released tons of vinyl (then recollected on the VIRGIN PULSES CD) ... Why? Are you nostalgic about them? Did you grow up buying 45rmps, 12inch, etc?
Hey, do you really think that I´m soooooo old, that I had the possibility to grow up with vinyl? ;-)
Anyway. I don´t know. There was no special passion or idealism or "fetish" to release my works on vinyl. It depended a lot on the labels where the material was released.
I prefer none of them. I like Cd´s because they have an easy handling, but I also love the vinyl for the warm sound, the bigger possibilities for artworks and last but not least ,as you said for the nostalgic charme.....
03. "Sensuality" is one of the main ingredient of your music and personality. Where does this attitude come from?
Did you have models who inspired you this attitude?
It comes from Inside? I only try to be myself. If you see much sensuality, it is only a part of me. I´m not inspired by someone. I´m not a very good actress, so it wouldn´t help me much trying to play a role.
Affected behaviour and the showing of false faces isn´t something I want to show in my life.
04. I see on your myspace that you have a good number of scheduled shows .... Unfortunately we don't see nothing in Italy: why? Have you never been invited to play here? What about your live shows? How do you present your music on stage?
Yes, there is a lot going on at the moment.
It´s a pity that my way doesn´t bring me to Italy this year. And it´s true that there were no invitations til now. If I would be invited, I wouldn´t say no to bella Italia.
I always try to keep my concerts a bit reduced to the basics, no oversized special effect show that deflects from the music and the main protagonist. For me it´s important that the artist and his music including his show are honest. In my shows the focus lies on my performance on the micro accompanied by Dan Courtman on the Electronics supported by a video, some soap bubbles or the spirit of the location (theater, 50´s disco...).
But I always try to use the special features of the locations. In 2003 I gave a concert in the cellar of the club we played. The show was transmitted via two cameras to 16 TV-Monitors upstairs. An artist painted a morphing picture on my back. So the show became very "metaphysical".
On bigger stages I have a guitarist or one other protagonist as support of my music with me on stage.
05. Which artists - in music, in cinema, in books and in painting - influenced your way to express yourself?
Music Enya, Jean Michelle Jarre, Pink Floyd, SPK, Mike Oldfield,
Cinema Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day, Hugh Grant, Sophia Loren, Audrey Tatou
Books Madita, The dream of Arden, The Wizard of Oz,
Edgar Allen Poe, Platon
Art Dali, Francis Bacon,
Surrealism, Expressionism, and of course the grand old masters
06. People and media often describes your music as "industrial". Ha ha .... I don't blame them! I think it is very hard to find a label to describe your musical mix... How would you describe it?
What about your future? should we expect some further new musical experiments we actually don't expect by you?
....as Industrial?!
The best description I´ve heard was "Noise-Chansonette". I think this fits the best.
Yes, there is something cooking....
I´ll never stop making experiments. It´s too much fun. But not all of them are for the listeners. So let´s see, what remains on the next album.
07. Did you never think about doing a collaboration with artists from another musical area? Is there something already going on? What do you think about a collaboration between you and Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio?
I´m always in correspondence with other artists. And some of them are interested in a collaboration. But this needs a lot of time, and time is always a problem....
But I still worked with other bands like Bastards of Love, Echo West or Sharcactus
Working with Thomas would be much fun I guess. While I´m thinking about this, I see us both singing a duett together to a 50´s Rock´n Roll-minimal-appocalyptic-folk-noise track...or so.... So let´s see what the future will bring.
08. Talking back about your way of expression, I don't know why, but your character reminds me a lot of somebody coming from a past era... What about? Are you personally affectionated to another Century, another era or another kind of society?
Well, as I said, I´m only the way I am.
But I´m a bit affected from the 20´s to the 60´s. The style, music and society in this time had a great charme with lovingly detail for the simple things, it conveys harmony and diffuses a lot of flair and glamour in my eyes.
But I don´t try to copy it or to live in it.
I think in my way of expression you can see a bit of their influences. However, I don´t want to be a copy of an old fashioned diva. For me it´s important, that the listener see, what I´m doing and how I´m looking is my own way to express myself. It took many years to find myself and my way of styling and music.
09. What's your opinion about pornography? Should we consider it an art or not? Do you think there's an association between pornography and erotism? Or not?
I love pornography.
If it´s art? Hm...
You can look at a picture of an great artist but for you there no art in it. It´s the same with the pornographic art, I think. A good porn can be art, and the bad ones are real waste.
Porn can´t exist without erotism but the erotism can also exist on his own.
But the opinions about pornography are very individual. As you know Lina (Deutsch Nepal) likes "Tiroler Sex", others like feet or fetish. For everybody erotism arises through other stimulations. But most important is that all have fun!
10. What about your next releases? A new CD? New vinyls? What about a DVD release?
Till now I started to write new songs and make experiments, try new instrumentations and
arrange a few songs. But I can´t say much about the way I will release the next Album. First I have to write more lyrics ant think about the conception of my work
Perhaps in the future there will be a DVD. But in the next year there is nothing planned
11. Thanks again for this interview!
Could you reveal us your musical dream...?
I also have to say thanks.
My personal dream is an old theatre with a red curtain on stage. Only a microphone with me in the middle. Wearing a long glittering galadress with a small hat. The Orchestra plays to my music. A Spotlight on me. Soap Bubbles are floating through the audience. After the first songs the curtain opens and a big 20´s scenery with some men in dress-coats appears. And the performance get started. Now you can see the analogue synths on the both sides of the stage.
An old fashioned-noise-classic concert with charme-elegance-erotism and flair.
