Guitar player and singer Erler, previously of Gretchen Ross and Cowboy Chris, with Kevin, drummer, ex-Free of Stars, Chris, 4-string, once of Captain America, and Alex also of Gretchen Ross formed The Gentle Suit in November 2004. Alex left the band and the state and joined the Kinetic Friends in Wisconsin. In July of 2006 The Gentle Suit recorded a one-take analog demo at Radium Recordings in Commerce, Georgia. Shortly after recruiting Jacob, formerly of The Shine, to play keyboards The Gentle Suit returned to Radium Recording and the result was an LP length demo-quality cd-r release packaged and distributed by the band. Near the end of 2007 The Gentle Suit used some free studio time at Giraffe Studios in Hendersonville, North Carolina to record 'Fruit of Their Thoughts' and 'Forgotten Pact' . The band has begun doing some home recording recently, the first examples of such being two improvisations recorded in their practice space on November 15.
The Gentle Suit are constantly playing shows in the upstate of South Carolina, western North Carolina and throughout the southeast. They are planning a brief tour and new recordings this year.
