It is with a sad sense of uncertainty and realism that I believe that the Sober Songs EP will be my last musical outing for a while. It has been five years since I recorded "This Is Me At 23" at Larry Smith's house, and now feels like the right time to put an end to my arrested development! The childish lyrics and fucked up sounds have been a great source of personal enjoyment for me. They have offered catharsis at some difficult times, laughter at some fun times. I've always believed that this music should never be taken too seriously. I never wrote it with a view to being famous or a pop star. It was always a chance to have fun at times when life could've been considered difficult.
I know I will continue to write and record music, but my attention in 2010 and beyond is firmly upon filmmaking. I want to concentrate my creativity solely upon the next few films.
Thank you to anyone who downloaded songs, bought CD's or came to concerts. Three more gigs (London, Birmingham and Berlin) and then goodnight methinks x
