Carter Mahnke + Chris Stewart = The Falcon Classic. What?!
If you've kept up with some of the lesser known of the lesser known indie music that's our there, you may have heard of either Midnight Surf Party (Carter Mahnke) and/or Christopher & The Lion (Chris Stewart, recently departed from ALLALOM Music). Both of them have been cranking out melodies for a number of years, and finally decided that, despite the 600 miles between them (Chris being in Nashville and Carter residing at Longwood University in Farmville, Va.) something had to be done to remedy the solo-artist "thing" that has plagued the two of them. That "thing" has existed ever since they both departed Williamsburg, Va. in the mid 2000's. Since then, they've produced some home recorded goodness in separate fields, and yet, by way of many, many lengthy telephone conversations, discovered that they missed working as a musical team.
Therefore, they've begun recording-long distance-in the hopes of perhaps living within more like, 6 miles of each other, sometime in the near future. In the mean time, the duo are preparing a record and planning on playing a few Nasvhille shows in mid-December...and then perhaps performing their mutual songs separately until someone decides to move closer to the other...
In short, this is The Falcon Classic. Stay tuned...

Behind the scenes
Since we started up our joint effort about a month ago, we have been constantly working on new tracks. As of now, there are only two songs totally finished, but there are about 5-6 more cooking in Chris's and my proverbial ovens.
