The Storms

1 comment | posted Jul 12

It can get hard to see the eye of the storm when you're sitting in the middle of it. Many questions can pierce your mind like "why me?" and "what am I gonna do?". Many live life in the eye of the storm where at times it can become calm, but that storm will start to move and you will feel the effects. The eye is not where man was meant to live instead we are to be in harmony with the storms using them to teach us how to live. While in the storms we always look at what surrounds us instead of what is within us. Within us is the faith to look at the surroundings we are in not as storms, but as opportunities to better ourselves. In these wet seasons we can always look at the rain as a tourist who wants soooo badly to be outside enjoying the sunny weather, but whose plans have been ruined. Or we can look at the storm as a farmer whose lively-hood relies on the rain. We are not meant to be tourists in life, we are to till the ground and make the most out of every moment. Looking to every situation as a new crop. A new way to continue living the life that we have been given.

Sometimes it may be hard to tell how long a storm has been going. Why as humans do we always want to put some time table on everything? Is it because then we will know when it starts and when it ends. Can we just realize that we do not control everything? Of course this is why we sometimes create the storms ourselves. We think we are in control and get into situations that cause the storm to come. It's like if we can't control every aspect including when we hurt; then we don't feel like we are alive. If you really want to feel alive then LIVE. Just live in the storms and just take them for what they give. They bring new life and new perspective. They make you think. They make you question even your own humanity. And they make you question why. A question that plagues every man. A question that does indeed have an answer. And the answer is in the storm. The answer is the storm. Because out of the storm comes a new person. A weathered person, who if the foundation is strong will not crumble under the waves, or the winds, or the beating of the rain. The reason is looking you in the eyes. If you only seek out His face. If you seek the one who created you to go through the storms. Then you will understand why the storm.
