My Mom has an interesting post about Obama's choice of Bible for his swearing in ceremony. She asked what Bible we would choose to swear in on (if any) and if it would be open to a specific verse.
This got me thinking about the various Bibles I have known through out my …
I haven't been blogging too much lately, but this song brings me out of seclusion. Not only is it a rockin' alt-country tune, but the video makes the song THAT MUCH BETTER!

Protecting the innocent is something that has often been heavy on my heart. I once wrote a song about one of my favorite books, Catcher in the Rye, in which I sang about how I wanted to warn all the children not to lose their faith as I have a certain times in my life.

The Stoning of St. Stephen, Rembrandt, 1625 oil on canvas
These days St. Stephen's Day is a more important religious holiday for me than Christmas. Sure I got to church on Christmas Eve and try to understand the story I've heard many times, but frankly the mystery of …

O holy Child of Bethlehem
Descend to us, we pray
Cast out our sin and enter in
Be born to us today
We hear the Christmas angels
The great glad tidings tell
O come to us, abide with us
Our Lord Emmanuel
Merry Christmas!

As I mentioned before, I've been working on new mini printed from carved Styrofoam printing plates (cut from my egg cartons and meat trays.) Last night, I got a chance to print off a bunch of pages and early this morning I got to work on it again. Here's the first …

Its the week before break, which is typically a stressful time for teachers. The kids aren't getting outside much due the cold and they're stressed because their parents are stressed. A general tone of bonkers settles into the school and you just have to hang on for …
So I signed up with webcomicsnation a few years ago when they opened it up for free accounts. I've been tooncasting the comics onto my own site, but the interface is still screwy. I've toyed with getting a wordpress version of each comic and installing comic press, …

We had some church friends over yesterday for lunch. Since we don't have any toys, my wife suggested we decorate cookies with the kids. I helped out by showing them how to make snowflakes (and then how to be "human vacuums" and cleaning up all the scraps!)

I always look forward to winter break, because it means I can make more COMICS.
I got a head start on printing these up this weekend.
