Just got back from the Keith Urban concert at the Bi-Lo Center. dang. i'm still trying to process everything that went on at the concert. dude was freakin' amazing. here's a few things from the night:
-i got hooked up with some awesome tickets. in the box beside us, there were two deaf people and a woman interpreting the concert in sign language. I thought it was kind of weird at first, but then it hit me....it was awesome to see people serving people, helping them to understand something that, without them, they would have no clue what was going on. Hmmmmmmm. Makes ya think...
-Gary Allen came out of the floor of the stage to kick off his set.
-Keith Urban....enough said.
-A (at least) 70 ft. by 50 ft. projection screen where all kinds of amazing graphics and camera shots were projected. at least 20 different camera shots of the stage.
-crazy light show. one of the best i've ever seen.
-probably 10,000+ people all going crazy for this dude, i feel like i lost my hearing from all of the screaming, and the loudness of the music.
-I'd venture to say they spent multi-millions of $$$$$$ on the set and the tour in general.
Crazy atmosphere at the concert, loved it. It was obvious that tons of creativity and preparation went into making the show happen. And dang....so much excitement and anticipation in one place. It made me wonder though. What if the Church were bold enough and passionate enough to put this much "stuff" into one Cause? How in the world could the Church generate THAT much excitement about what was going on????? It could happen. What if we just plain-went-all-out??
It makes me want to be a church marketer or something like that and answer those questions.
