Hey gang,

This week's profile pic features my friend Daon...personal trainer, mentor, pastor.

Daon and I met a couple years ago at a mutual friend's neighborhood coffee shop. Moments prior, he finished an after-school program where he serves 12-15 kids and their families in his hometown outside Nashville, TN. Entering the coffee shop in workout clothes befitting an athlete, Daon was introduced to me as the pastor of the community church. "Funny," I said to myself. "This guy doesn't LOOK like any pastor I've met before."

So much for external appearances. I stand corrected. After getting to know him directly while photographing him and "his kids" in the after-school program, I completely understand how he fills all of the rolls mentioned in my opening paragraph.

He has a heart of gold, muscles of envious proportions, and a smile of warmth that draws you into his sphere of influence. Sure, he's human; we all are. He's a great human, and I had a blast making this photograph is him in workout mode.
