Not so much a holiday, but in a couple of weeks time I'm going up to Scotland for the weekend (Friday 5th - 7th) and this time I plan on visiting the Necropolis in Glasgow.

Whenever I go up I tend to spend time in Edinburgh and Glasgow gets largely ignored, though I always intend to make more effort to split the time fairly. This time, I have made plans and absolutely intend to spend at least half a day there to get some good photos. I know it's a way off yet but I really want to see it and be assured that there WILL be photos for you all on my return.
On the downside - I will be without the internet for 2 whole days! :-(

I intend to - lots of black and white ones if possible. Been wanting to go for ages.
I'll be out of contact for a couple of days but soon be back and there will be photos, I promise!

Tomorrow we leave for Washington state. We've been to Seattle a bunch of times. This time we'll be staying in Port Ludlow. We're all excited, but I'm still packing. It's taking me forever because I needed a nap.

My cousin lives in Port Townsend!
We should have been there last month. We're trying to persuade her to come over, once she sells her house. Small world!

SHUT UP!!! The Warden's sister just moved there from Seattle (new job). What is your cousin doing in Port Townsend of all places?

Why? Is it bad? The family mainly live on Mercer Island but she lives there and at various times they've lived around the area (and I can't remember the exact addresses or locations). I do remember a beautiful house one of the cousins (there are many) had in Olympia - I really want to go back and see it through more mature eyes with a camera of course.
Enjoy yourselves.

No, I meant it's such a coincidence. I've never been, but the photos look beautiful. The Warden was trying to get job around there, but nothing panned out. =)

Going to "Sunny" Orlando, FL at the end of August for a friends wedding, with the hubby and kids. It will be a mini vacation. Hopefully, it will be fun. :-)

Prague was a fantastic place to visit - I've posted a blog with pics and a link to the flickr photos - have a look here.

I set the original post to not accept comments - thought the default was to add them but obviously not paying full attention! Fixed now anyway.
If anyone gets the opportunity to visit then I would say go - you could possibly do all you need in a 4 or 5 day break - we were there for 8 days which was possibly a day or two more than we would normally choose but it cost no more to have those extra days so whyever not?
Anyway, see for yourselves ..

I am leaving this Saturday for Chandler, Texas. My Grandfather is turning 80 next Tuesday and me and my family will be celebrating it with my grandparents. We will be out there for a week. I wouldn't exactly call it a vacation, however at least we won't be here at home, trying to think of other ways to pass the summer time away. Plus, it always very cool visiting with my Grandparents.

Don't forget your mom will be 56 on Monday, too! :-) And I've got Wednesday off, so we can maybe go into Dalls or Ft. Worth or maybe head down to Austin for a day trip...camera-and-tripod-in-hand, of course.

Lake Palestine near Chandler, Texas: Very peaceful ... and full of bugs (except for when the wind blows):

Dallas, Texas: Full of traffic but oddly very few people to be seen anywhere:

In spite of it being mid-week, we found that the streets of Dallas were eerily void of people. Once we ventured into the lobby areas of a couple of the towers, we realized that most every tower had its own food court area and that's where all the people were congregated. Very weird, very pedestrian unfriendly town, that Dallas. Fort Worth, on the other hand, was very much the opposite.

I've never been to either place but it just doesn't look right to have such huge buildings and no people (even if they were all having lunch).
