Frank Zappa

The present day composer refuses to die!

Frank Zappa was a unique composer whose works crossed genres effortlessly. Often categorised a prog rock, his music would often comprise of elements taken from pop, funk, reggae, soul as well as the modern orchestral composers that he loved. Zappa was a spanner in the works of the music industry, too popular to be ignored but to fiercely independant to be contained.
This is a place for fans to discuss his music, life and all things good.

Anyone got the new(ish) Buffalo double album? I was put off that it was live stuff from the 1980 tour, a period I wasn't too fussed with. But this band is seriously nasty...heavy and unfeasably tight..it sounds like nothing else. Keep it Greasy is done about as fast as it is possibly to play...Stick it Out is gloriously offensive...the whole album is quite astonishing!
