Yes -- Glitter And Doom will be cool. I got a ticket to see him in Dublin at the end of July. They are building a venue for the gig: "The Rat Cellar."

Should be great - expensive though. My ticket cost E 137.60!! (That's 216.00 US dollars)

Tom is the only guy in the world I'd pay that much to see :)

Sorry, same comment but without the stupid formatting this time, I hope.

I%u2019m fairly certain (though of course I could be hopelessly way off) that your avatar photograph of Tom was taken by UK photographer Ed Sirrs in LA for a feature in the NME in 1993.
I mention this here because the very day after that session, Ed was flying back to England to photograph my band at the time Slaughterhouse 5, who were signed to IRS Records. He regaled us all afternoon with stories of his encounter with Mr Waits, saying what a thoroughly friendly, though somewhat unusual, man he found him to be. I won't repeat them here - I can%u2019t remember most of Ed%u2019s report, anyway; my memory is not what it used to be - suffice it to say that he thought Tom was, of course, a very colourful and singular character.
He did say this (Ed%u2019s words): 'During the hour-long session, Tom wouldn%u2019t stop shaking my hand. When I commented what a warm guy I thought he was, Tom whispered to me: "Nah, you're just helping me to stand, man - I%u2019m as drunk as a skunk!"

I flew southwest airlines this week and their magazine had really cool 3 page article "interview" with Waits. He is such a poet. I had to rip the article out and take it home. When i get back home, I'll quote some pieces from the article.

Ok, is there a particular disc from the new album you find yourself listening to more than the others?
For me it depends on my mood, but at work I usually go to Brawlers first.

Peace,
P

I usually put them all together and press random. Otherwise I wouldn't listen to Bastards too much. But I do love that disc.
