So - I don't actually hang out in Second Life that much - but I am involved in some art projects there - and I appreciate the Snow Crash / metaverse inspiration for it...

Here's a region I'll have to go check out tho...

And so there’s a region called Gibson, upon which there is a city called Nexus Prime. It’s a cyberpunk set, a city deep and wide and styled as the paleo-future of the 1980s. You start on a high city square, surrounded by the gleaming spires of zaibatsu skyscrapers. Descend, and you’ll find the wrecked streets, the Gothic churches and blood-bucket bars. Under the streets are tunnels, leading to illicit clinics and bombed-out labs.

-- from an article about a generation raised on Gibson and Stephenson in SL.

so this group was a dupe of the other cyberpunk group.. i decided to flip this into something a little more unrelated to encourage separate conversations.

i am fascinated with robots and machines, human control of said robots and the inevitable marriage of silicon and flesh.

anyone else?

okay, so I love everything William Gibson wrote. (including collabs with Bruce Sterling)

I've yet to find a comparable author.. Rudy Rucker, Neal Stephenson.. good stuff, just not what I was lookin for.

snow crash was the best match from NS, P.K. Dick is always top of the list IMO. Maybe some of Vinge's works but so far it's been a crap shoot for me also
