Sunn O)))

HELL-O)))-WEEN

Sunn O))) is an American drone metal band, in its broadest sense; however, it incorporates elements of the dark ambient, metal and drone doom genres as well. The band consists of Stephen O'Malley (Khanate, Burning Witch) and Greg Anderson (Goatsnake). The band was formed as a tribute to Earth, another heavy-sounding band who were pioneers of the drone metal sound.

I heard that there was a bit of onstage tension between Greg and Stephen at the weekend - did anyone else catch it? It seems there were having an off night..although my source (GROHS hehe) says that the monday gig was a stormer!

Both are good, Burial Chamber Trio is...a bit different (in a good way, though)...Attila Csihar is especially awesome on that record. :D

Anyone seen them on the recent tour? I've heard mixed reviews. I saw them in London a while back and it was brutal. Heard that they are a bit different this time round....

Naw, saw them last summer with Boris.

Hope they come to Denver sometime soon.

it was good, but was more of a free doom jam than a 'typical' sunn gig, might have something to do with stapleton (NWW) on electronics and bowed guitar (from what i could see through the smoke)...no real relentless riffing, which i love! a different sunn gig, but still good. atilla stole the show though, demon vocals from the depths of hell!!!
