Orthodox "modern" music

As the Scriptures tell us, we must magnify and glorify God with chants, music and hymns ...
Is modern music (pop, rock, blues, folk, electronica, rap or jazz ...) able to do that ! why not !
As said J.R.R Tolkien every man, created in the image of God, is, potentially, a "creator in second" ...could a modern musician be something else than a tottaly profane (and profanated) creature only searching after mudane pleasures, filthy "dreams", profane joy and futile hapiness ? Is there something else, something more possible behind modern music, could it be possible to create a new space where we could make a place for sancticity and sacred in a secularised music ??
We just ask and pray Our Lord and the Holy Spirit for answers ...
