A group for fans of Jack Kerouac, and, to a lesser extent, any writers of the Beat Generation. Tell us your favorite Kerouac quotes, share any Kerouac-like moments you've had. Share your beat-inspired prose and poetry (or even photographs and music). The only rules for this group are: be open-minded and kind, please. Anyone who makes nasty comments to anyone else will be promptly kicked out of the community. Other than that, there are no rules. Blow as deep as you want to blow.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the publication of "On The Road." I re-read it recently and loved it again. Below is a like to a YOUTUBE post of Kerouac's appearence on the Steve Allen show in 1959. I'm happy to be a member of this group.

When I was at Naropa in 1992 (I graduated 1994), Allen Ginsberg came up with this extention of "MIND SLOGANS" that he coupled along with Keroauc's Spontaneous Prose. He also extended the SP thing too, but I can't seem to find that. I could be wrong.
