Okay, hate me - favourite ep? Or genre of ep? I personally am a big fan of the wacky ones that see M&S going a little crazy. E.g. Small Potatoes, Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space', Syzygy, The Post-Moderrn Prometheus'... oh, also a big fan of Pusher. So sue me, I was a 'shipper.

I was always partial to the Conspiracy / Abduction arch or the show. The rest was all just filler to me. Frankly, I got a little annoyed when I'd have to wait a month while Mulder and Scully chased down Vampires and Cult members before the show would return to that Arch.

Oh, I feel just the opposite. I loved the "filler," but usually found myself bored by the arcs. The vampire episode (the one with Mulder in the southwest, and Luke Wilson -- not the early one focusing on Scully) is one of my favorites. I think the best episodes might work as both, though -- serial and standalone -- like "Musings of a Cigarette Smoker Man" (if that's what it's called), which contributes to the mystery involving Mulder's father and the CSM, but stands beautifully on its own too. The "event" standalones (with guest-writers like King and Gibson) usually bored me too.

Ok, I'll admit it. That episode with Luke Wilson is one of my favorites too.

Oh, yes, I'd forgotten that one... very amusing.
