Hey, if anyone's interested, there's this really cool retreat coming up. Anyone interested in Judaism, inspirational speakers, holistic healing, or anything of the sort should check it out:
ohmyshite. This is the most idiotic thing I've ever seen.
'Drivers' Ten Commandments'
1. You shall not kill.
2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.
3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.
4. Be charitable and help your neighbor in need, especially victims of accidents.
5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.
6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so.
7. Support the families of accident victims.
8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness.
9. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.
10. Feel responsible toward others.

I grew up harcorde Christian (non denomination) for my entire life. It wasn't until recently that I began to study and do some reading and research that really made me question what I've grown up with believing. A lot of religions grip you by manipulation and brainwashing techniques that are no different that the techniques that are use in occult beliefs/practices. There are "copy cat" aspects of Christianity (and the life of Christ) that really made me wonder and research some more. The fact that Christianity was started thousands and thousands of years after other religions have been established. The fact that the bible talks about creation, yet science and evidence alone show that there are some contradicitions in timelines. There are some biblical contradictions that just don't make sense to me. Any believer or bible scholar can twist it around any way to make it seem this way or that way. I still battle with guilt for feeling the way I do. I feel like I am going to hell for questioning what I was brought up to believe. ut I really feel that it's all a part of the brain-washing that I have been exposed to for so many years. That's not to say that Christianity is wrong, and that I'm right. I'm just saying that I believe it's an incredibly liberating feeling to be able to talk about it...and being open to possibilities that I just don't know all the answers. And for that matter, maybe nobody does?

More wars have been waged over religious differences than anything else. That should tell you something.

We believe that something exists, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is the form of any or all world religions. Religion is just that, an organization that binds people by manipulation, brainwashing, false teachings or doctrines, and/or erroneous stories. We're not here to say one is more important than another, we're not here to say that there is one only. We're free from religious bondage. We're free from guilt. We have a mind, we have science, we have archeology. We have a mind to think. We have a mind to reason.
This group is for intellectual individuals who choose to take a neutral stance on any belief until they feel that they have found the answer to the unanswerable. This groups isn't for people who hate anyone for feeling or believing a certain way. This group is a place of respect for one another, regardless of your religious views. Maybe we can reason together.
