The new album is really good. It seems they have been in normal progression from the original albums to now. Getting smoother, though slightly poppy.

There are five really solid songs on the album, I think. I especially love the last track. It reminds me of Summer Make Good. Good night hiking song. But only for coming down the mountain.
Some of the shorter songs in between I'm not so sure about. Sometimes I think Mum albums are based on a few really good songs, and they want to release them so badly that they make the rest of the album into these little music blips.
Overall, I'm still getting used to the album but it's definitely growing on me with every listen. Even some of those blippy ones.

YAY!
stolen news from mum:web ^_^

olof arnalds, mum's collaborator for the past 3 years, released her solo album recently on 12 tonar. "vid og vid" is described as "an enchanting album full of peaceful and folkish music, radiant with sanguinity and hope." the album was produced by sigur ros' kjartan sveinsson who also plays some instruments along with skuli sverrisson. you can buy the album at smekkleysa.
download "i nyju husi", a tremendously beautiful song, taken from "vid og vid" here.
