Heres a clip from Invisible Creaure's Norma Jean CD Packaging. Notice the texuring on the type "FIGHT FAIR!", besides the rips, how do you think they accomplished this texturing on the text, being stronger towards the center and weaker on the edges. Like a an old letterpress would show.

I have heard that IC are Photoshop Masters, I respect IC, they do amazing stuff!
I think they "play" with the layers, turnin' them into Multiply, lightness, etc..."
Maybe the Fight Fait type is a multiply layer.
