Here's an idea from left field. What if "present day" where we last saw Jack and Kate was nothing more than Desmond's newest vision. Don't hate. Don't flame. Just a thought!! :)

saw this on a lost forum:
Or all the flash-forwards were Desmond's power kicking in as he's leaving Looking Glass, as his premonitions tend to occur just in time for him to be pro-active about them.
I may be wrong, but I really feel that it was Desmond's flashes. He's seeing a possible future, and he's seeing how bad things will be if Jack's current rescue plan goes through. He's probably racing across the island now to try to stop the tracking of the phone's signal.

A few have written that it might have been Locke or Ben. Which would explain why Kate wasn't too heart broken. Although it may be someone we haven't met yet. So many new questions. We do have eight months to speculate, although every idea we come up with will probably be proven wrong in the first episode of season four.

As long as you conceived off the island, you should be fine. That explains why Claire didn't die.

I think it also explains why Ben is so close to Alex. The fact she was born and survived probably came as a great surprise at first. Since the "hostiles" might view her as blessed and there could be a power struggle between her and Ben (think Locke) Ben adopts her and takes her as his own, more as a selfish effort to control her and the perspectives of the "hostiles."
The producers have confirmed, however, that there will be a Rouseau flashback in season 4. Woot!

So, why the hell was Penny just sitting there ready to talk to whoever spoke on that frequency? I know that she had her team locate where the island might have been (when the hatch went boom) but how does that account for her being at the ready for the radio signal from the Looking Glass?
And who do you think it is that Jack spoke to on the radio? Any ideas? It obviously doesn't turn out the way Ben predicted- everyone didn't die. Who the hell was it?

ben was bluffing. it just doesnt fit with the flashforwards. if it was desmond's flashforwards, then he would've seen them being killed, not the future. and if it were truly flashforwards like the flashbacks, then it just doesnt fir the story line

Maybe he didn't mean it literally, as he can't see the future. Maybe he was saying that like himself, Jack would sacrifice his people the way he did... aw crap, I don't have any idea what he meant.

That is weird that she was camping by the screen. And didn't the backdrop look mad retro? I know it was blurry but it didn't look like something from present day.
The guy on the radio did identify himself, but I don't remember his name though. Ben might have been speaking in the loooong term with the whole "every LIVING person on the island will die". Kind of like implying that they will die because they leave the island, where if they would stay instead they might live forever?

@Kilgore- that makes sense- except remember them going an meeting Juliette at the airport to bring her back to the island? And these are people who have apparently been 35 since at least when Ben was a kid.

Hi guys - I'm new here, but have watched every Lost episode since the get-go.
I had this horrible "are you kidding me" type look on my face while Charlie was "drowning". Really - that's it? Don't just try to squeeze out the window? Don't tell Desmond to watch out while you open the door back up and swim back up just like you swam down? Only, it will be much faster going up than down? Really? I doubt he's dead. If he died, they would have had this big, musical moment, where they zoom in close on my man's face to reflect on his heroism, and his life. He's not dead. Desmond's gonna get pissed, and say "It's not ya time bratha!" and get the door open somehow.
Oh by the way, Hurley's a badass. How funny is it though, that Hurley totally clobbered a dude with a van, and then came down on Sawyer when he shot Tom. "He surrendered! Oh, nevermind, I did just murder that other dude with the van. My bad."

Not sure you can get it on the web (or that it'd even be interesting to most people), but there was a scholarly article by Jonathn Gray andJason Mittell called "Speculation on Spoilers: Lost Fandom, Narrative Consumption and Rethinking Textuality." It's an entirely academic article, going over how and why people get into spoilers and how foilers develop. If you're a scholastic geek, might be worth an hour of your time.

The Powell's Books Lost blog post for "Greatest Hits" is up, and there's a lot more going on than meets the eye.
It looks like we have some evidence that every time Des saved Charlie, he not only changed the future, but the past and present as well. Because first season, Charlie couldn't swim. That may be why Charlie was the only rock god not on drugs in the flashback. I haven't gone back to check, but if Charlie was not wearing the DS ring in the past flashbacks when he was hooked on smack, then we know for sure.

According to Charlie's past flashbacks, he didn't become a druggie until late in his rock career, possibly after Drive Shaft broke up. Based on what we seen last week, I don't think we have enough evidence to say he never became hooked on drugs.
As far as Desmond's visions go, they always come in flashes. Who knows what could happen between those flashes. We haven't seen Charlie push the button yet, so it is still possible that when he does, the hatch will flood and he will drown.
Just my 2 cents.

The looking glass was suppose to be flooded, accordiing to Juliet, but clearly it wasn't. Also in Desmond vision it must have been flooded as well. So, i agree with Kilgore, that there is a huge gap in the vision, but it could be a possible series finale, in which the show would remind you of this vision.
