I went to Figueras several years ago now and still remember it vividly. Dali's museum (designed by himself) is a Spanish civil-war castle with a glass dome on the top (reminiscent of a biosphere a la Kew Gardens or the Eden project). You go in and see a Cadillac which you can put a euro or two in for artificial rain to pour down from the car roof. Other highlights include some of his best work and a stairway with a viewpoint which realises the idea of the room appearing as Mae West.
I didn't get time to see the theatre, but the exhibition was much better than any other exhibitions I have seen in either Spain or England. The Barcelona museum is a little drab compared to the exhibition at his hometown of Figueras.
Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech (May 11, 1904 - January 23, 1989) was a Spanish surrealist painter born in Figueres, Catalonia (Spain). This group is for people who love his art.
