Haven't you been paying insurance the whole time anyway? All I did was renew registration online and they mailed me the new registration and sticker, didn't even have it inspected.
All I need to do is maintenance... but by that I mean:
1. Brakes
2. Rebuild carbs
3. Replace cables
4. Petcock (reserve doesn't work as it's very likely clogged)
5. Oh, and of course the oil.
I should order the parts soon, probably take a couple weeks to get everything. Hopefully can get everything done in one day.
I'll probably continue looking for a bigger bike. It'd be nice to be able to go long distance comfortably on the high-way... even just for Walden Pond.

Took the bikes out for the first local cruise of spring on April 1..and it was great. beautiful weather the whole trip, decided to extend the ride by 100 miles and it was still soon to call it quits. another cold front moved in, and now I'm just itching to ride again...:(

Hey, I just joined your group. I've been riding for over 30 years and I've owned dozens of bikes in that time. Right now I have a 73 BMW and a 99 Victory.

That's great that you've been riding so long! I hope to ride as often as possible for as long as possible too.
I would really love to get a BMW bike, old or new. I have a '73 Honda CB350F right now, but plan on getting a bigger bike this spring for longer distance rides and comfort at higher speeds. 8000rpm is just not pleasant on a tiny bike. I've been watching ebay and craigslist for BMW's but they are hard to come by and they are expensive.
Wow just writing this I'm getting excited for the warmer days! Maybe I should move to Cali...

I took my bike out Wednesday when it was 70. I didn't even need to jump start it after it had been sitting for 2 months! It ran just like before. I think I just have to register it again, and of course an oil change... should do the carbs too. Good thing I didn't bring it to Cambridge though, it'd be on the street right now in the snow!
