a girl played me a song that she chose as the song she wanted to play as she died, which inspired me to make a mix of songs that "made me want to die".

Good Morning Captain - Slint
Eli, The Barrow Boy - Decemberists
Overdue - Get Up Kids
Come on in - Sparklehorse
Cold Shoulder - Casiotone for the Painfully Alone
King's Crossing - Elliott Smith
Suicide Medacine - Rocky Votolato
Don't Die in Me - Mirah
Via Chicago - Wilco
Baby in Two - The Pernice Brothers
Cowboy Dan - Modest Mouse
I See a Darkness - Bonnie Prince Billy
Ignorant Piece of Shit - Carissa's Wierd
Feeling Yourself Disintergrate - The Flaming Lips
Brothers on a Hotel Bed - Death Cab For Cutie
How to Disappear Completely - Radiohead
Asleep - The Smiths

So heres the question. Do you think it is easier to make a Melancholy Themed Mix or a Cheery (optimistic) Themed mix?
Sub question. Do you like Winter or Summer Mixes Better?

this made me laugh my ass off.... so
a. it's easier to make meloncholly mixes. because when your extemely happy you usually arn't chillin alone listening to happy music. right. i kinda waffle on this. at the same time i think it's way easier to appreciate cheery mixes, because you can bounce off the walls and just be like wow this is great lets hang out.
b. summer mixes are great! but so are fall ones... the songs about how summer is over. they are great. and plus fall is the best time to fall in love.. and mixes go hand in hand with that.

i think its easier to make happy mixes. for example a love mix for your crush, because your totaly inspired and want to impress them with how romantic you are thru other peoples words. i know i know a lot of depressing songs which made it even harder to pick the most depressing ones working with that all they had to be was depressing. and depressing mixes are generally for me and i dont have that much fun making mixes for myself. but i agree, the fall mix takes the cake.
