I'm going to be taking pictures at a concert this weekend. I purchased a 50mm f/1.8 lens because of the aperture suits the low lighting. Any other suggestions when going to a concert?
Thanks,
Chris

I'm in need of a really good "walk-around" lens. I've got a 10-20mm which is great for architectural or landscape shots. I've got a 75-300mm tele zoon which suits my needs for outdoor sports. I've got a 50mm f/1.4 which I find perfectly meets my portraiture needs. My current "walk-around" lens is the 18-55mm Sigma. While it's a great little lens, I really want to get a) nicer glass and b) something in more of the 20-100-ish mm range to provide me with a little mroe flexability. Any suggestions?

If you can spring for the EF 24-105 f/4 L IS USM that'd be my suggestion, though I don't have any experience with it outside reviews (which indicate excellence). For great info on Canon zoom (and other) lenses I'd suggest starting your reading here:

Post 40D release, I'm finally ready to buy into the Canon lineup. Here's my plan:
Wide ... EF-S 10-22m f/3.5-4.5 USM
Mid ... EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM
Long ... can't afford a lady in white yet
Fast ... EF 50mm f/1.8 II

Anybody else eagerly anticipating the 40D? Or dare is say 5DmkII/3D/7D? I started researching last April when the 30D arrived and undershot my expectations (I know, it's still a rock-solid dSLR). Fifteen months, one Photokina, and one PMA later I'm still waiting dutifully and checking the rumor mill daily. I even bought a Powershot SD1000 (silver) as an appetizer. Come September I'm biting the bullet, no matter what.

What is your favorite walk-around lens? The one you leave on when you hit the streets, finger on the trigger...

I'm fond of my Tamron 17-35mm (not Canon, I know, but to at least give some feedback :) On the opposite end of the "spectrum," I really like using my 70-200 f/2.8. Great bokeh, and fun to get in close to things.
I think a 60mm or 180mm macro would be fun to walk around with, too.

I got a wide-angle Tokina 12-24mm f/4 DX not too long ago and while wide-angle lenses are great for capturing landscapes, I like getting close-up head-to-toe shots:

The distortion is great. This lens is nice and bright but does have a bit of chromatic aberration.

Wow that distortion on the 12-24 is weird.
I prefer the 16-35 only because of the range after factoring FOV crop.

400D. I've got to hone my skills before I think about spending anything more on a body.

mkIIn at the moment with 20D as back-up. Looking at getting the 1Dmk3 or the 5DmkII so i can retire the 20D.

350D, but would love to upgrade to a 30D or 5D...or (in my dreams) a 1D Mark III.
