Hi everyone, I've just joined this group and just wanted to say hello to fellow knitters out there. My favourite thing to knit is baby clothes because they're so quick to make and often use really lovely colours.

Hello creative & crafty knitters,

I'm the creator of COLOURlovers.com a design inspiration site focused on color, and when my mother who is a big knitter / quilter told me to check out some knit socks for my blog, I went in a little hesitant... but Wow! Knitters are truly color lovers.

I just posted an article that features some of the wonderfully colorful knit socks I found on Flickr and I think you all might find it interesting:http://www.colourlovers.com/blog/2007/06/24/color-inspiration-knit-socks-of-all-sorts/

i just purchased fitted knits and i love it. i havent made anything yet. i am still scared to knit in the round. also, i have to use up all my random yarns before i allow myself to buy anymore yarns. but i cant wait to make something out of that book!

here is an edit!!!
i have now knitted in the round and i now ( at this moment) learned to do cables!!!! i also, as a gift, received denise interchangable knitting needles, and i decided to get the size 17 and 19 needles, so i can make everything in the fitted knits, and everything in my newer book- twinkle's big city knits!!! yay!!

I think it would be awesome if there was a way to post photos/patterns of projects people are excited about, perhaps to create some inspiration. I as well learned to knit from my gram around the age of 10, and have recently picked it up agian. I just made fingerless gloves! I'm working on a big bag, that I hope to be my knitting bag...

I agree...it'd be great to post pics of projects on here. It's very inspiring to look at everyone's stuff. Maybe they'll read our posts...

I learned how to knit when I was about nine or ten, but only recently picked it back up again in the last few years. I only really get to craft over the summer and Christmas break (cuz law school is a bitch that way). I'm knitting my bf a hat and hope to make my second pair of socks soon.

I don't know if there are any other spinners here, but I made a group called "making yarn". I don't know how to link it here.

I adore cross stitching and I'm just getting started with embroidery. I have that cute little Stitch It kit and some extra embroidery patterns from Sublime Stitching. :-) I wonder if there's enough cross stitchers and/or embroiderers to start a group?

yarn porn and wip! photos are kinda big, so i figured it would be better to just show the links.

yarn i purchased:
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y184/crystalpomerico/DSCN0479.jpg
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y184/crystalpomerico/DSCN0480.jpg
Cherry Tree Hill 100% superwash merino sock yarn, hand-dyed, no colour name listed other than brights on both

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y184/crystalpomerico/DSCN0481.jpg
my very first sock. ankle high mens size 13 regular. i am at the heel to toe part which is kinda boring because i have like 4 more inches of doing the same thing over and over again.

thinking about using the other yarn to make myself a pair of socks using the knitty-rpm sock pattern.
