I've lost 10 pounds! YAY! I want to lose 2 more pounds by the end of the year. I have more than enough time. I want to start the New Year with my diet and exercise routine already in place and my new year's resolution will be to maintain my program. I'm so excited! I hope everyone is doing well too. =)
Still exercising but not at much because the baby's been sick and it's too cold to take her in the jogger. Also injured my shoulder, so have to hold off on upper body stuff.

Working out has become such a habit that I feel completely guilty when I don't. So, I haven't gone today... yet. I hope to make it to the gym this afternoon when I take the kids to their swim practice. The baby can't fall asleep in the car. I might be out of luck there.

I ran 2.4 miles yesterday (continuously)! WOO HOO! We actually ran more but walked up The Big Hill. That's the last hurdle. The 2.4 miles ends at the base of The Big Hill. I also started again with crunches and push ups. =)

If you haven't run before or if it's been a while, this is the plan that I started out with Couch Potato to 5K. There's also a runners group that Javier created if you need advice or have any running related questions. Hi Javier =)

For the past two weeks, I've walked/ran a 5k six days of the week--pushing myself on the weekdays. I've added running up a hill and a half. We always go the same route, and I said I would run when it was downhill and shady, but I'm doing more running than walking now. Since the weather turned, I have way more energy. I can really feel it in the back of my legs. My partners in crime should be here any minute--Doni & Rosmery. Rosmery recently joined us. A couple of years ago, we ran a 5k and 8k together. I'm glad those two get along also. Okay, better stretch a little. =)

Working out makes me feel stronger. My cardio has really improved. Now I just have to start lifting.

I challenged myself n the spring to run in a 5K this fall iand just reread my goal. My how time flies, my target date is in 27 days. Holy shit! I've stepped up the workouts, but I still don't know if I can "run" (I put run in quotes because I don't know if what I do really qualifies as running) the whole way. There are a few hills that totally kick my ass. I decided to have "helene's fun run" instead of actually entering a race. This should be fun. Maybe it'll make a difference when I'm not pushing the stroller, but I kind of doubt it. So, I walked/ran 4 times already this week, and I'm going tomorrow too. I'm feeling it in my feet and back. It's a good kind of sore. Okay, wish me luck because I'm going to need it! =)

No bread or pasta yesterday. Other than that, ate as usual...even had a reasonable size bowl of ice cream =)

Still doing the walk/run thing. It always feels good when I finish. Today we were caught in the rain. It was a nice change from the heat. Baby loved it. Literally she was singing in the rain. I think the heat drains all the energy out of her because she's usually mostly quiet. So today is a good day! =)

I'm here, and I think this will be the first vacation where I don't GAIN weight. They eat so healthy here. I must admit I miss my ice cream and snacks....
Exercise & Diet. Easy right? WRONG!!! At least for some of us, but we're not giving up. Let's help each other get fit and stay healthy, and for those of you already there, we could use some words of wisdom (or at least a kick in our fat asses). Share tips, bitch and moan, inspire, motivate, and be real. We can do this!
