These guys just blew me off when I saw them for the first time in 2006 at Intro Intim at Cologne... it was a little audience, but their show was awesome :-)! After this gig I just HAD to buy their debut "Stolen Horse" :-)!
"Energetic garage-rockers with a polished indie-pop edge, German four-piece Gods Of Blitz keep their sound short, sharp, sweet and sweaty - squeezing 13 songs into 38 minutes. During that time, they cut a punchy swathe between the Hives precision and panache and early Strokes guitar interplay and inherent hipness - which is not surprising, seeing as this debut was co-produced by Gordon Raphael and mixed by Michael Ilbert who have worked with both of these bands." Rolling Stone Australia, April 2006
"Here we have a band that may just become Germanys first international indie-pop rock stars. The band packs a punch with a sophistication and subtlety that has got more to do with their Scandinavian neighbours ueber healthy scene than Germanys atypical offerings.... This is a nonchalantly sharp snarl at the modern world." Drum, Australia, April 2006
( about "The Rising" ) "There is that raw edge here which only seems to come from continental bands at the moment. The angular, almost serrated guitars and driving drums together with lead singer Sebastian Gabel's rasping vocals give this track that force that is missing from so many of our current home-grown offerings. With its major power chords and the pervasive influences of The Ramones and The Buzzcocks this is a refreshing blast of full on rock." Mike Barnes, musicomh.com,
