Vegetarian? Try veganism! It's not as hard as you think and far less demanding as a form of consumption!
Land efficiency for crop vs livestock agriculture is a drastic contrast. Sure the meat industry is a huge machine, but that doesn't mean you need to fuel it. Dairy farming and beef farming are effectively 2 branches of the same tree, so your cheese habit isn't making that cow any happier! Also, you have to cook more which means your diet improves from necessity, and your packaging consumption also reduces as you can depend less on ready made crap.
Hello tupperware!
For sure you mourn pizza, but you can just run that badboy cheeseless and say hello to Mister Chilli. Add a little to everything and your food stays satisfying!
Not for all, but for those who can-do!
Living in Brighton, England I have access to loads of vegan stuff; so I accept I am privileged to do this comfortably. If you live in a less diverse area it can be far harder to attempt without the crutches of soya everything.
I don't mean to be preachy, but merely aim to suggest it to those who are curious. Organic's great if you can afford it, and for you carnivores out there I recommend switching to organic meat. Better for the animals, the planet and you. (much tastier too).
Different strokes for different folks, just make sure your paint has a low v.o.c. rating, and that brush ain't made of plastic!
I recently started a project, Environmental Survival Guide, as means of spreading the ideas and concepts behind lowering our impact. You can also read the feed through my Virb profile.

This group was created to promote and encourage the concept of a "low impact" lifestyle. This means doing things like using alternative transportation, recycling, car pooling, conserving energy, and doing whatever you can to reduce their impact on the environment.
