Ok, thought I would join since this an applicable group for me. I joined Virb I think around mid to late April of last year. Joined because I was over MySpace and had succeeded in finding as many of my old friends there as I wanted. Came to this site to find new people to be friends with and succeeded happily. I miss the constant talking that I experienced last summer. I am a little bugged by the number of people that have left in the last few months. But, everyone comes and goes for a reason. Granted Virb isn't the shiny new toy it was last year. However, I still have happy little surprises here from time to time. :-)

i've been here 4 months, after a year of disgust with myspace, despite initial high hopes. i have not been disappointed; by far a more intelligent group here. i have been wanting to talk about how beneficial and therapeutic i have found my experience here. i feel far less desperate than i was when i started out. i have needed to be heard, and to hear others, opinions beyond what the people in i find in my town are capable of. though what i find is in part (though not wholly) my fault, having the social interaction problems that i do. which makes this an ideal medium for myself and others with the same type of problem. but quite frankly, i still think that it is not a dysfunction to shrink from interaction with the general population. so i have found people here who have heard me, and people whose input has had an impact on my own views. and i sorely needed that input.

I'm pleased that some of this has helped.
I have nothing but good to say about all my friends here - so non-judgemental and genuine. I have made some fantastic friendships that I wish I could replicate in real life.

i just meant i didn't fit into the non-judgmental catagory. but i make up for it in authenticity.

How to make your own Utopia on virb:
1. add everyone on virb. EVERYONE.
There, you're done. Even if they don't add you back, you can find them all using your "Fast Friend Finder"! (as long as they don't deny your reqest, that is!) Really, try it!
Now you can have EVERYONE on your list! :P

I hope you're joking Jonathan!
I'd rather have 20 friends who I talk to than 2000 that I don't..

Hahaha. That's pretty funny! I actually don't have many friends on Virb because I want to be able to comment and keep up with everyone. It is hard with like 2000 . lol. However, on facebook and myspace, I have quite a few more and can't keep up. Most all of those I added though are people I know. Virb has been about making make new friends. hehehe. =)

Congratz, moo!
I joined with some other friends from a message board I frequent. I don't think they've kept it up or joined any groups. It's all heshta's fault that I started posting in some of the groups.

everything is her fault Paul!
But I'm glad too.
And glad you joined in and became a friend - I can't remember if I've even seen a pic of you (am going to check now) - I think of you as a scared little dog - just like people round here probably think of me as a cow!
Edit: ah yes - I remember now - the trumpet player!

Yeah - I remember my first tentative steps onto this site and i think I loved it more or less straight away.

Yes, ma'am....yes I am.
I saw a mention of VIRB first on Jeremy Cowart's web site, so I had to check it out...and I think I fell in love with it, too. You're right - it'll no-doubt grow larger and larger, but I have a feeling our core group will remain pretty much in-tact (give or take a few).
You know, VIRB2 should have a mechanism that sends out a "Happy Anniversary" or "Happy Birthday" announcement to you when you hit your milestones. There's a feature request.

Oh no you didn't just ma'am me. You and your darn West Virginia upbringing.
Like Brad doesn't have enough to deal with. :-) Although it would be cool to have that function on here.
