If anyone visits NYC, I'd highly recommend Buddakan. Right now its kind of a hot spot to be seen in which can be annoying, but the food, wine, service and restaurant design are well worth it. It seats over 400 people in garguantuan stylish rooms and yet it requires a month to make a reservation, unless, of course, you know who to talk to...
Dishes I would eat again (and again!): Edamame Dumplings and Sizzling Shortribs. Dishes I would skip: Tuna Tartare and the Steamed Sea Bass Roll. The desserts are ok, nothing innovative but edible nonetheless. The wine list is reliable; we had a nice bottle of Malbec, a phenomenol Sancerre and a lovely Prosecco. I can't wait to go back again.
A place to review best and worst restaurants, whether it be dives or 5-star establishments, all over the globe....
