Are you serious? I actually like his voice a lot. Ike on the other hand, well, he's just a mess.

Well... There's an old expression about not leaving the person that brought ya to the dance... I think it fits... Anytime I hear a track with Zac on it... I gotta think of how it could of sounded with the group's real singer in his place...

I've only heard two songs... Great Divide and Been There Before... I think they're both two of the band's best songs so, even if 6 or 7 tracks have a less than qualified singer... It could still be worth the purchase... I think they're really underrated musicians overall...
How would you say "The Walk," compares with their other CDs?

So... Singers, if they take care of themselves, their voices will improve with age...
The larynx/voicebox is a muscle... And like our other muscles, they get stronger as you use and train them... So I can see how he'd be soundin' smoother in his old age (joking)
But cool... I'm pumped to hear it... Not gonna lie though... I'll prolly be skippin the Zac-Tracks... It's a big CD so there's still 9-12 listenable jams!

there are times when i honestly feel like zac's voice is more appealing to listen to than taylor's. it's a nice change from the norm when it comes to hanson & zac's voice has developed so much character over the past few years, it's cool to see him finally get the chance to sing lead on some stuff.
that's not to say that i dislike taylor because let's face it...i've wanted to marry him since i was 12, but...i think saying that zac can't sing is wayyy off base.

p.s. the 'zac songs' on the record are probably the best tracks on the entire album. the japanese release has 2 bonus tracks so in total there are 6 songs where taylor is primarily the lead, 1 where he & isaac switch off, 1 with primarily isaac & the other 7 are 'zac songs'....once again, i will repeat that 'go', 'fire on the mountain', 'running man' & 'tearin' it down', the primarily zac songs are a lot better than a couple that taylor does lead on. they're all equally as talented, but it's nice to hear some variety in the lead vocals. so good luck skipping half of the album, haha.

Yeah... I don't know how anyone can watch the podcasts with Zac singing live and walk away with a good impression... I guess it just comes down to personal preference...
I will say that while they were working with the major labels (on all of their previous albums), none of the "higher ups" would let Zac sing lead on a song, presumably because it would damage the album and cost them parts of what is left of their fanbase... So I don't think I'm alone in my opinion...
I'm going to, of course, give the Zac-Tracks a try... But like I said, after watching the podcast... I don't have high hopes...

The whole idea of switching leads is absurd when you think about it... If they weren't family and unable to push eachother around, this would never happen... None of the greats switched lead singers... Think of Bono tossing the mic to Edge for half an album... or Keith Richards convincing Mic Jagger to step aside for a few songs...
The whole idea of switching leads is not only impractical from a business perspective, but when you're putting in a weaker vocalist... It hurts on the artistic front too...

I believe Zac should lead the band. I like Taylor's voice, but he is better producer and musician than singer. Zac Rocks !

I'm downloading it right now. The new songs I heard the other night were pretty hit or miss, but usually most of them grow on me,

We all listened to Hanson back in the "mmmBOP" days. I must admit that I was not crazy about that song..or their look. But they have come a long way since then. Their newest CD, "THE WALK", is a great example of their superb work ethic and positive metamorphosis as performers. I hope that everyone will listen carefully to the work on this new CD. They are not little kids anymore, and they should be proud of this accomplishment. As for who can sing the best...it is all a matter of personal preference. I happen to like Zac's voice...solo or with Taylor and Issac.
