Has anyone done any type animation like this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXxouXt5dz4
I don't have or know Adobe After Effects but I do have Final Cut Studio. Is it possible to do this kind of thing in one of the programs in the Final Cut studio? Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Motion might be able to achieve some of this, but I'm guessing After Effects would be the best way to go.

mmm, letterpress is amazing. have fun!
an interesting book, not only for inspiration in letter press printing but also design is 1000 Type Treatments. Its a Rockport publication, and they have a bunch of other ones, but this one is fun to look at, for sure. also, letterpress: new applications for traditional skills looked interesting.

I've taken my first step into typographic design. Let me know what you think:

I've been fascinated with type for a long time now and I've only now begun to attempt designing my own fonts. Once I started playing around with Fontographer and Fontlab Studio, I couldn't stop. Here's a sample of it in use:

Thx. Wanna try it out? I'd love to get some actual usage feedback. It's my first attempt in creating a font and I could use all the input I can get.

ACD says:
common typographical disorders
typophilia - an excessive attachment to and fascination with the shape of letters, often to the exclusion of other interests and object choices. Typophiliacs usually die penniless and alone.
typophobia - the irrational dislike of letterforms, often marked by a preference for icons, dingbats, and – in fatal cases – bullets and daggers. The fears of the typophobe can often be quieted (but not cured) by steady doses of Helvetica and Times Roman.
typochondria - a persistent anxiety that one has selected the wrong typeface. This condition is often paired with OKD (optical kerning disorder), the need to constantly adjust and readjust the spaces between letters.

hahaha - i am definitely afflicted with typophilia, typochondria and OKD. i also suffer from Device Font Depression (DFD) - common to many web designers, this disorder is often incurred by the limited typeface options available for web design use.

i envy you. i use siFR where i can but it's ability to "embed" typefaces is still somewhat limiting.
