I go missing in action and this place diiiiesss. Have you guys seen the latest version of Rob Zombie's Hallown trailer? I'm still excited about it. I know people are really mixed about his work, but I like it. The excessive retro horror film throwbackedness of them is appealing to me. Plus, they're gory and humorous. Which is A-Okay with me.

How about 1.18.08? I still think it's a Ctuhulu movie although I saw a video today supposedly "unlocking the secrets" of the movie and it says it's not. The video is here if you're interested:

I dunno, sleeping alien, lying dormant under the sea until he rises to come up and decapitate people? How is that NOT Cthulu!? Heh.

I'm totally on the fence about Zombie's Halloween. I hated House, but LOVED Rejects . . . so . . . I dunno. :)

Dude . . . I am so with you on the 1.18.08 business. There are some secret websites that further my thining that it's a Lovecraft thing. Um, I seem to have not saved them, so yay me. But if you google "cloverfield," they will probably come up.

Devin says:

A lot of people hated house but loved rejects so it's understandable. I think with Halloween he'll be going in more of a rejects sort of direction because he'll be telling more of the story behind the characters like he did with rejects, instead of focusing on the mystery of them and the straight gore-fest.

Hey Guys,
I'm curious as to what the first Horror movie you first saw and what age you were?

An uncle of mine showed my brother and cousin Texas Chainsaw Massacre when we were about 10.
Scarred me for life.
Loved it.

New to virb and this group. :) My first horror movie was probably Poltergiest when I was about 6 or so. We were building a new house and I used to have dreams that it was on an Indian burial ground and my mom will still tell you how excited I was that our new house was going to be haunted! After that was The Exorcist when I was about 8. I didn't then, and I still don't, see what is so scary about it, but I give it much respect. :) I think starting so young made me mostly immune to the scare factor. A fact that sometimes makes me sad...

28 weeks later was amazing

-one of the best intros i've seen in a long time
-lots of different set-pieces to keep your attention throughout

I would even go so far as to say that it was better than the original

Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween looks magical. I am soo excited. Although I still think he needs to make "Werewolf women of the S.S" into a real movie. faaaaantastic!

The new Rob Zombie Halloween trailer is up: Here.

I know some of you had said you weren't really looking forward to this one. I totally am, just because I actually enjoy his movies (Sup, House of 1000 Corpses!) But I mean, it's rare that I'm NOT looking forward to a horror movie so I'm partial :-P

I agree, you can usually tell a franchise needs revamping when they hit part ten feat. Busta Rhymes. No offense to him and his fans. :)

28 weeks later trailer!

I think it looks good, seems to be just more of the same and Robert Carlysle IS a good actor (a rarity in horror nowadays), so it should be decent

First impressions?
