i'm sure you've all heard by now, but i got this email today... new Whedon series coming to FOX (boo, FOX... but i'm crossing my fingers that it'll not meet the same demise as Firefly)! it's called Dollhouse. so excited!
Here's the email:
All,
We just wanted to give everybody a heads up - a few months ago, Joss met with Eliza Duskhu (who played Faith on Buffy The Vampire Slayer). He has created a TV series with her, and it was a bit of an accident.
And yep, it's going into production.
For your delight, the team behind the SERENITY site are spreading our wings to the new show. It's called Dollhouse, and it's about... Change. And a bunch of other more exciting human condition stuff. We're lucky to know some things about it, and I'd stake my name on this - you want to check it out when it airs.
The site is called Dollverse, and is athttp://www.dollverse.com
We're also on Facebook, Myspace and Livejournal. Upcoming: podcasts, interviews and lots more. Check us out if you're curious.
Sincerely,
-gossi

Just thought I'd share my own version of the group's user picture *grin* This was one of my favorite gifts from my beloved, who thinks I am a silly fanboi but supports my Joss fascination anyway.

I'm one of the few people I know who has not fully embraced Heroes -- but whenever friends ask me why, the only answer I can come up with is that "The characters don't talk Whedony enough."

Season 8 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is in comic book form.
Written by Joss and other amazing writers, issues are released monthly.

I recently got the new issue of Runaways. Joss is writing for that series, now.
If you're interested, issue 25 is the first in his run.

No, I don't think so. He provides enough back story exposition and it seems like a good place to join actually. Probably the best Joss has ever written in that medium. However, Brian K Vaughan run circles around Joss comic book writing and as such, I think everyone should read it from the beginning.

I'd always harbored a faint hope for some Spike/Dru feature set in... I don't know... the Crimean War or something.
Maybe there's just too much back story required for a feature like that, but I always liked the historical flashbacks in Angel and Buffy.

I went to the movies last week and I saw this poster in the lobby. I zoomed right to Zoe and thought, "Aw, this is the best she can get now?" It makes me sad to see Firefly or ANY Whedon show members stuck in roles like these on TV or movies. I think I just want them all to be loved as much as I and my other Whedon fan friends loved them. I'll probably get crap for saying this movie looks retarded, but yeah, I personally just think she could do better if Hollywood would throw her a bone!

At least the film isn't one of those REALLY horrible, cheesy films. Chris Rock seems decent in a film role.

yes, the I think I love my Wife movie is actually an adaptation of a Rhomer film called l'amour l'apres midi.
From his interview in the creative screenwriting podcast, Rock seems adamant on breaking out of the type of movie
he is usually associated with.
Will rent it, at least just for Gina Torres.

oh yeah, here's my new tattoo.

haven't decided whether or not to get it filled in with white ink (would that be a waste of time and ink? i know it doesn't show very well on most light skinned people and might even yellow some). i'm also thinking about getting a caption bubble that says "grr...argh!" right next to him. we'll see.
