ELLIE says:
I deleted my MySpace just after Christmas, before I even got the invite for Virb.
I was just sick of it.
Really.
The way some people reacted though...GEESH!
You would have thought I had aborted a baby or something.
Not deleted an online profile.

Although I have to say that Virb is pretty nice-looking without really trashy adverts and spam, I am not COMPLETELY ready to ditch Myspace for these reasons:
1. There are like 15 music artists total on this whole website and some of them only have 1 or two songs. Most of them are bands/artists of burgeoning popularity (like Feist and Modest Mouse and Amy Whinehouse) who are basically on the edge of becoming mainstream alternative music. The musical range of this website appears to be very limited, whereas Myspace has nearly every band, from Oceans of Urbana, IL to The Clash.
2. Music is pretty much the only reason why I still use Myspace, so yeah, that's the end of my argument.
How do we get bands to make the jump from corporate, well-known giants such as myspace to the relatively unknown Virb website? I don't think the aesthetically-pleasing, pretty lay-out of Virb is enough for not only artists, but regular users like Joe Schmoe, to ditch something that is (while annoyingly tasteless) fairly comprehensive in terms of music selection.
